I have a current food obsession, and it's not really a healthy one but I can't seem to get enough. I'm in love with a Thai Duck Salad at a Thai place by my work. I had it for both lunch and dinner one day a few weeks ago, and I think I've had it at least once a week since then. And I'm incredibly possessive over it. I realize that I'm raving about it, but I don't offer a bite to anyone. I feel a little guilty.... but not enough to share a single bite!

First off I LOVE duck. LOVE IT! Sure, sometimes it gets too rich or fatty, but this restaurant cooks it so well. And then in the salad, they pair it with lettuce, but not as much as you'd think of a salad, just enough to cool things off and add a crunch. There are so many flavorful little additions in it that give it so much character and texture like cucumber, mint, Thai basil, carrot, tomatoes, cabbage, red onion, green onion, CHILIES and a sweet and spicy vinegar sauce. Even though it's called a salad, I put it over rice because it's not quite enough to fill me up and that sauce shouldn't be lost and the rice helps to save it!

So here it is!

BTW - My co-workers just couldn't get why I'd be taking a picture of my food. Apparently me saying, "It's for the blog!", doesn't mean anything to them. They have no idea!

That looks pretty healthy to me. And yummy!

Nearly every picture I take is "for the blog"! My sweet husband will even remember to bring the camera with us when we go places just in case anything we see or do might be "blog-worthy".

Love duck! But it's tough to cook it just right, so I completely understand your obsession since you've found the right balance in the salad you love. :-)

LOL! Ah, Cherry! You are too cute! Oh, and I get strange looks when I whip out the camera to take photos of food when we're dining out. People just don't seem to get that it's "for the blog"! LOL!

My brother keeps saying, "You take a lot of pictures of food!" LOL!

I've not had duck before, and that salad looks very yummy indeed.
