Boo Hoo Poor Me Time is OVER - It's cookie time!

Ok so I posted it, but I'm so having issues with the fact that I just posted that. Really, it sounds so down and poopy. I hate being down and poopy. So enough of that bid-ness.

It's time for holiday cookie fun!
The rest of my lunch break I shall focus on what holiday cookies I am going to make, while keeping my baking obsession in check and at a sane level if you will. You should see how over-my-head I've been in past years with the number of varieties and number of people I want to give to... ohhh weeee, but they have been mighty tasty!

The goal this year it to do large batches of simple cookies. Because it's something I grew up doing, I will have to do one more labor intensive cookie which is a decorated butter cookie. It has gotten pretty fancy these last few years, but maybe I'll try a more simple design so I can produce a larger number. I also have my other holiday cookie standards, but I like to switch things up each year.

What kind of cookie or sweet treat do you think of this time of year?

Oh lordy, but that butter cookie sounds lovely!

This time of year, it's spice cookies and sugar cookies that I think of. Also, Beanzzz makes these fantiastic wedding cookies and she also dips half of a chocolate chip cookie in chocolate. So one side is nekked and the other side has yummy chocolate.

We're doing baking day on Saturday, and Maya is hoping to do chocolate chip cookies in shapes...Like sugar cookies, with the cookie cutters. I don't think that will work...anyone know?

I always think of gingerbread this time of year. Mmmm. And fudge, and mexican wedding cookies. And, um, thumbprint cookies with raspberry jam. Yummy.

Hey Cherry, it's Donna! How the heck are ya girl? I found you thru Gary's Blog. Someday I will read thru your archives to see what the heck you've been up to (or not - i'm so lazy lately)...

As for favorite Holiday cookie/sweet treat? Anything made by someone else, cause I really suck at that and my oven really blows. yeah, that's it, it's the oven's fault.

Like ML said, my holiday cookies are the wedding cookies (or Russian tea cakes/cookies) and the half dipped chocolate chippers. I also like decorating sugar cookies. Oh, and any kind of sweet cookie bar is good too. Now I want a cookie!!! :)

My mom makes the thumbprint cookies with jam inside and we never get them but at Christmas! Yes, I know I could make some myself, but somehow they're better when your mom makes them, ya know?

What about those really thin and crispy cookies that have a little web of chocolate on top? I'll make you some banana bread if you make me some cookies!
